verizon fios blocks port 25 from sending
|
Revised: 4/2/2011
Owner: Administrator |
change outgoing port smtp to 587 from port 25 - verizon blocks port 25 from outgoing since 2009
If you use a 3rd party email client and can not send using port 25 since it is blocked and 587 is not a choice because the 3rd party server blocks 587, then set up in your email client the 3rd party send (outgoing) and set up the smtp (outgoing) to outgoing.outgoing.verizon.net and port 587 - and authenticate with the credentials of your verizon account (add verizon email account and password) - the email will now be sent with the original email (3rd party ) address showing but sent through verizon servers. incoming mail is not a problem
It is the policy of Verizon Online that unauthenticated email sent from this IP address should be sent out only via the designated outbound mail server allocated to Verizon Online customers.
